Linux / FreeBSD Training

Trainings on Linux and FreeBSD systems, which are delivered in training centre “Networking Technologies”™ since 2002 are author's, and were developed by specialists of our company. The main goal of these courses is deep understanding the ideology of Unix-systems and getting the knowledge, required for realizing the most common tasks.

Currently, the Linux and FreeBSD training program for systems administrator covers most of the tasks, that Ukrainian IT administrators are involved in. Courses on Linux and FreeBSD imply not just memorizing commands, but also understanding the basics on which the operating system is based. This helps the students of TС “Networking Technologies”™ in future to solve majority of problems which were not covered at course.

Moreover, the Unix Windows integration course, which was also developed by specialists of TC “Networking Technologies”™ is the unique course in Ukraine. The main technologies for connection heterogeneous networks are covered in this course.

The main goal during the development of Linux and FreeBSD courses was oriented on solving IT specialists' problems while using these systems. Apart from the practical profit, Linux courses can serve as training for international certification LPI (Linux Professional Institute).

Apart from standard courses, EC “Networking Technologies”™ delivers Face-To-Face (F2F) trainings. This kind of training is oriented on specialists who face a definite problem; on F2F training the required problem situation is designed, then students troubleshoot the situation in the test environment, discuss possible similar situations etc. and only after that they do it in real world environment.

May 2005

The program on migration from SCO OpenServer and SCO UnixWare to Linux, IT specialists of “Express-Bank”
The series of trainings for it specialists of “Express-Bank” included series of courses of EC “Networking Technologies”™ on Linux operating system. In the training session took part Unix-systems administrators of all branches of the bank.
The main issue of the training is migration from SCO OpenServer and SCO UnixWare to Linux, taking into consideration that the migration should take place with the least stoppage, because the network of the bank covers all the territory of Ukraine and it should work 24/7.

The project on providing staff with Linux technologies

EC “Networking Technologies”™ provided staff of Bank “Kyiv” with series of courses on Linux operating system. 20 persons took courses NT-LAdm Installing, Administering and Maintenance of Linux systems and NT-LNet Implementing Network Infrastructure Based on Linux systems.

SCO OpenServer technologies for IT-specialists in Russian
Cooperation with EC “Networking Academy Lanit” (Russia). The results of the cooperation were two trainings on SCO OpenServer technologies for IT-specialists of the biggest bank in Voronezh (Russian). Instructor of Education Center «Networking Technologies»™ taught the courses.
